13th Annual Diamond Gala - Celebrating 60 years & Honoring Dan Villaseñor

A dazzling crowd of over 200 guests enjoyed the 13th annual Diamond Gala supporting the mission Boys & Girls Club of Vista at the Westin in Carlsbad.  The event honored the 60th anniversary of the Boys & Girls Club opening its doors in Vista. 

The Boys & Girls Club of Vista also recognized Dan Villaseñor, Club alumni, Board member and Peppertree Frosty owner with its Champion for Youth Award winner. Mr. Villaseñor received several recognition awards from Assemblymember Laurie Davies and City of Vista Mayor John Franklin as well as representatives from Senator Catherine Blakespear’s Office, Supervisor Jim Desmond’s Office, and from Boys & Clubs of America.

Guests also heard from Club members Olive, Thomas, Sophia and Joseph who spoke about what the Club means to them and their future goals which ranged from engineer to soccer player to paranormal investigator!

Heather Lake, Fox 5 morning reporter served as the emcee.  Pierre Charmasson a former sports reporter led the live auction.

Fiscal sponsors for the evening included: US Bank, Watkins Wellness, California West, The Pinery, Lee & Associates, EDCO, Kaiser Permanente, Akeso Occupational Health, Edward Jones, Tideline, R&R Construction Company, Tapia Wealth Management Group, the Tropical Connection, Forte for Children and the Minarik Family Charitable Fund.

The event raised over $157,000 in support of the Boys & Girls Club of Vista. Angela Fabian of EDCO and Pam Fox of Palomar Heath served as chairs for the event.

We celebrated in classic style with our live & silent auctions, wine wall, casino games, & live entertainment.

All participation in this event directly benefits over 1,200 youth in our community who come to the Boys & Girls Club of Vista for safe and impactful experiences.
